Az elmúlt évtizedek során végbement technológiai fejlődés, valamint a társadalmi és gazdasági igények növekedése lehetővé tették az új kommunikációs lehetőségek megjelenését. Napjainkra már szinte elképzelhetetlen az élet az informatika újabb- és újabb találmányai, vívmányai nélkül. A megnövekedett igények, valamint a kezdeti számítógépes hálózatok létrehozása, illetve ezek továbbfejlesztése képezik a mai Internet alapjait, amelyek mostanra behálózzák az egész világot. Az elektronikus üzletvitel, az elektronikus kereskedelem és az elektronikus logisztika kialakulása is mind kapcsolatban áll az Internet kialakulásával, de nemcsak a külső, hanem a belső integrált információs rendszerek létrejöttével is.

The technological development and the increase in social and economic demands over the last few decades have facilitated the emergence of new communication possibilities. By now life has become unimaginable without the newer and newer developments and achievements in information technology. The growing demand and the establishment of the initial computer networks and their further development constitute the basis of today's Internet, which encompasses the whole world. The emergence of electronic business, electronic trade and electronic logistics is also closely related to the invention of the Internet, but not only to the development of external but also of internal integrated communications systems.
